Alfred Publishers has been in business for over 80 years, founded by Alfred Piantodosi in New York in 1922. Sam Manus, a violinist who had provided background music for silent movies, bought the company in 1928, and the company has been in the Manus family ever since. Now a worldwide organization, Alfred's corporate offices are located in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles), with additional sales/marketing hubs in the UK, Germany, Singapore and Sydney, Australia where the distribution and marketing center for the Pacific Rim is located.
